This unit is Nationally Recognised and criteria cover all aspects of your HR Licence.  Our trucks are an HR class vehicle, and a Prime Mover loaded with a detachable tray and load, both are loaded to to 75% GVM.  Please contact us before undertaking MVR's learner permit test.   NATA offer a comprehensive training and assessment service which includes a theory assessment.

Please be aware that for class HR you must be able to drive a manual vehicle to have a realistic chance of passing the final competency test.

The course consists of one unit of competency which may be conducted in one session or over a number of sessions as required by the individual student:

  • Four hour Intake for delivery of the theory component
  • Theory test is attempted before Intake, the test is marked and any corrections will be discussed at Intake
  • Practical Training, where your knowledge of theory and practical skills are tested, is delivered in a 2014 Isuzu FVZ Long with a 9 tonne load and a 9-speed gearbox, or for an open licence, a 2013 Mack Granite with an 18 speed gearbox and 9 tonne load.
  • For HR'b', practical training is delivered in one session, or as booked, up to 7 hours (c-HR'b'), 6 hours (LR-HR'b') or 5 hours (MR-HR'b') are included in your program.  For an open licence your program may be extended and charged at a half day or hourly rate.  Please contact our office for more details.
  • For HR open, practical training is delivered in 4 hour blocks for 18 speed gearbox training, with open road driving training introduced when a sufficient level of gearbox management competency is achieved.
  • Assessment consists of an MVR test comprising a 45 minute on road component, along an MVR approved route, and other off-road components which test the essential elements of Heavy Vehicle on-road management

You will be issued a Heavy Vehicle Driving Test form and Statement of Attainment on successful completion of your course.  The test and Statement are valid for 12 months from the date of issue for use to upgrade your licence at any branch of NT MVR.  You may choose to pick up your statement after course completion, or NATA will mail your statement to your nominated address.

This unit is Nationally Recognised and criteria cover all aspects of your MR Licence.  Please contact us before undertaking MVR's learner permit test.   NATA offer a comprehensive training and assessment service which includes a theory test.

This unit is Nationally Recognised and criteria cover all aspects of your LR Licence.  You have the option to use our brand new Isuzu 55-155 AMT loaded with 2.4 tonne or supply a suitable class vehicle, if it's a truck it will need a load of 2.4 tonne, for a bus no load is required.  Please contact us to discuss.

The course consists of one unit of competency which may be conducted in one session or over a number of sessions as required by the individual student:

  • Four hour Intake, which covers the theory component and may be conducted at NATA, or course materials may be delivered to you for completion in your own time.
  • Theory test is attempted before Intake, the test is marked and any corrections are discussed at Intake.
  • Practical Training, where your knowledge of theory and practical skills are tested
  • Practical training is delivered in one session, or two sessions as booked.
  • Assessment is a 45 minute on road component along an MVR approved test route and other off road components which test the essential elements of vehicle on-road management
  • Licence outcome is an NT LR Driver Licence

Cost: $1,400.00 (HR to HC auto), $1,700.00 (MR to HC auto), for 18 speed please contact us

This unit is Nationally Recognised and criteria cover all aspects of your HC Licence.  Our trucks are 2010 DAF CF85 3 axle prime mover, with a fully automated gearbox and an 18 speed Mack Granite.  Open licences are delivered by upgrading the base licence to remove any gearbox condition using our Mack Granite

  • Licence outcome is an NT HC Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence, any endorsement is based on your HR licence

HR to HC standard two day licence upgrade the minimum course cost is $1,400.00 where our DAF is used.  Where you are upgrading your current licence from MR, the minimum cost for a two day course is is $1,700.00.  Where an open licence is required please contact our office.  Extra lessons may be booked at $220.00 per hour.

You will be issued an MVR Test Sheet and a Statement of Attainment on successful completion of your course, these are valid for 12 months from date of issue for use to upgrade your licence at any branch of NT MVR.

Cost: $1,400.00 (HC to MC auto), $1,750.00 (HR upgrade auto), for open licence outcomes please contact our office

This unit is Nationally Recognised and criteria cover all aspects of your MC Licence.  Our trucks are 2010 DAF CF85 3 axle prime mover, with a fully automated gearbox, with gearbox condition removals available using our a 2013 Mack Granite 3 axle prime mover, with an 18 speed roadranger gearbox.

The course consists of one unit of competency which may be conducted over a number of sessions as required by the individual student:

  • Theory test is attempted before Intake, the test is marked and corrections will be discussed at Intake.
  • Practical Training, where your knowledge of theory and practical skills are tested
  • Practical training is delivered over two to three days, as booked.
  • Assessment is a 1 and a half hour driving session along a standard route which tests the essential elements of Heavy Vehicle on-road management
  • Licence outcome is an NT MC Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence, any endorsement is based on your HR or HC licence

HC to MC is a standard one to two day licence upgrade course with a minimum cost of $1,400.00 (auto).  Where you are upgrading your current licence from HR, the minimum cost for a two day course $1,750.00 (auto).  Extra lessons are able to be booked at $220.00 per hour.
